54. I am currently volunteering for Missouri Pitbull Rescue by helping dogs in boarding who are not currently placed in a foster home. For info about the organization, how you can help, or just to learn about the breed, go to www.mprgroup.net!
53. I am sitting here squinting at the keyboard trying to see in the dark, instead of just freaking standing up to turn on the light.
52. Just saw David Tennant on Top Gear… I’m going to have to add him to my MILM list (Men I’d Like to Marry). He’s so charming!
51. I spent an entire day last week on plumbing issues. Today the faucet is leaking again. Dang.
50. Woo Hoo! Lost is back! Now just two months until BSG…
49. Since number 32, no change.
48. Goals for the summer: brush up on my Spanish, start learning French. Take some history classes. Sell my house. Nothing too ambitious…
47. Since number 38, the novelty has worn off. I’m ready for something new. I really miss teaching…
46. I really miss the UK. Big time.
45. A world where Wentworth Miller is gay is a world that is seriously messed up.
44. Who has two thumbs and is a complete sucker for happy endings? This Girl!
43. Top of my “to do” list: Go to Africa.
41. I lost my to do list this morning. Now I have to make a new one from memory. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a to do list?
40. I have a thing for biscuit dough. Not in the British “biscuit=cookie” sense (although I like that too) but in the bisquick, pillsbury sense.
39. I was Junie B Jones for Halloween. What a blast! I love her!
38. I love my job. Actually, I’m IN love with it.
37. I’ve been pondering the rural lifestyle lately. I think I want some land with a little house, some natural meadow and wooded land, a pond, chickens, cows, and a llama (maybe 2, so one doesn’t feel like an outcast). and two big dogs each with one blue eye. I absolutely love it in the country. Okay, except for the wasps.
36. Favorite actors: (See # 26) Cary Grant, young Marlon Brando, Adam Brody, Jack Black and Adrien Brody
35. Favorite actresses: Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz, Natalie Portman, Ashley Judd

31. The new LOST season starts WHEN??? What the heck???
30. I CANNOT wait until the leaves start to change!
29. I tend to get wordy when I write (see blog entries, if you have a couple hours to kill…)
28. (continued from #24) … while you’re at it, check out “Blue Planet” by the same filmmakers. It will blow your mind!
27. After 10 years of being a classroom teacher, I have recently made the transition to be the school librarian. So now I am a librarian, single, in my 30’s, with a cat. Sigh.
26. More men I would marry: Christopher Eccleston, James Nesbitt, Dr. Who, Flight of the Conchords (both of them! BIGAMY!), Mr. Darcy, and yes, I do realize that some of the men on my list are fictional. Probably why I’m still single.
25. Can humidity reach 180%? YES IT CAN. IT HAS.
24. If you haven’t seen the BBC series “Planet Earth,” drop what you are doing right now and add it to your rental list. And brace yourself for multiple epiphanies.
23. I often change my mind–except about things that are fundamentally important to me.
22. I’ve changed the format of my list and will be adding additional items at the top instead of the bottom–hence the aberration in the numbering…
1. I live my life in lists.
2. I would move to the UK in a heartbeat if I could take my family and friends with me.
3. My license plate in college was an homage to the They Might Be Giants song “Ana Ng.”

7. No Child Left Behind must be stopped. It is destroying the joy of curiosity and learning!
8. The world (except for what people have done to it) amazes me on a daily basis. The simple, yet intricate workings of nature and the beauty of it all are phenomenally awe-inspiring… “Awake, sleeper!” Nature is the closest we can get to reading God’s mind.
9. Have you SEEN chucknorrisfacts.com? I’m not much of a fan of the guy, but this site brings me to tears every time! I even bought a sweatshirt with my favorite one…

13. Attic-fan weather is my all-time favorite, especially at night.
14. I forgot what I was going to write for this one.
15. EVERYONE should visit other countries as many times as possible. The USA, great though it is, is only 1/194th of the world, people!
16. Fall is the best season–temps in the 60’s, sweatshirt and jeans weather, the colors, the excitement of a new school year… I’m even considering naming my future little girl “Autumn.”
17. Holy crap! That Battlestar Galactica season finale kicked my butt! Four more Cylons! Kara is back! Earth is near! Now I have to wait until 2008??? What is UP with THAT???

Oh, Amy! I love this little insight into your brain. I can totally see you married to JD. He is just quirky enough to match your wonderful spunk and personality! Hope you are enjoying your lazy days and sparkling nights!

If you like John Eldridge, check out Donald Millar, especially “Looking for God Knows What”. Amy, he totally talks our language.
(Like the blog, girl. Impressive.)

Oh my gosh Amy!! You had me laughing so hard at your list!! I love your blog! Ironically, we think pretty similar, too… If Ian wasn’t around, I think JD would also make a great boyfriend/husband!

Just finished reading this, viewed the JD clip, and watched a slide show of your vacation with your dad, brother, and sis-n-law.
What happened to that little girl who studied so intently the flower by the sidewalk??
You’ve grown up right in front of my eyes!! (And behind my back, all at the same time)
Love you. AND A LOT OF THOSE PICTURES ARE WHOLLY UNBELIEVABLE!
Talk to your cousin Carrie about making a coffee-table book with them. She has a provider who makes them!

Amy – I love this sight of yours! You write wonderfully. I wonder if you have read Eat Pray Love? It sounds like something you may do – quit everything and travel. You just need a bestseller first so you can afford to do it. How is that? Get busy girlfren.
